Cybersecurity Awareness Month is the perfect time to “shine a light” on the ways that your clients can be aware of the threats that they face when it comes to cybersecurity, as well as provide ways to mitigate the risk factors that can allow cybercriminals easier access. In addition to our very own marketing toolkit that you can download for free, we’ve also found other items that you can use to complement the resources that we’ve provided for this month – or year-round!
The Theme This Cybersecurity Awareness Month
This is the 18th year of Cybersecurity Awareness Month which was started by the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) as a way to raise awareness about the importance of this across the United States of America. The theme of “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart” continues to encourage everyone to do their part.
This year’s campaign is broken down into 4-week increments that focus on a particular area of cybersecurity with the following themes:
Week of October 4th – Be Cyber Smart
Week of October 11th – Phight the Phish!
Week of October 18th – Explore. Experience. Share (Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week)
Week of October 25th – Cybersecurity First
Resources for Cybersecurity Awareness Month
In addition to the Breach Secure Now toolkit which includes 31 days of cybersecurity awareness tips for social media, 4 weekly blogs, a promotional video, and a full webinar toolkit, there are resources from CISA that you can add to your cybersecurity awareness month campaign as well! Some of these resources are made available in multiple languages.
Other ways for you to get involved and promote smart cybersecurity can be found on the National Cybersecurity Alliance’s website. The Center for Internet Safety created an infographic that you can access as well.
