We are excited to announce a new security service called Breach Secure Now (BSN). BSN is a first of its kind security service built exclusively for Managed Service Providers (MSPs). BSN helps MSP clients reduce the chance of a data breach and provides resources in the event of a data breach. BSN combines a Security Risk Assessment, Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Scanning, Security Policies, Employee Security Training, Cyber Insurance and Breach Response Services into an affordable service. The service is white labeled and MSPs can brand the service as their own. There are no published retail pricing so MSPs can set the price that they charge their clients. Let’s take a look at each of the components of the service.
Prevent Breaches
Security Risk Assessment
A comprehensive Security Risk Assessment to identify risks to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) as well as Sensitive Data (proprietary, confidential data which could cause harm to an organization in the hands of an unauthorized party such as a competitor). The Security Risk Assessment will help inventory where PII and Sensitive Data is stored or accessed, assess risk to the data and recommend additional security to better protect the data. The Security Risk Assessment reports will be modifiable and the MSP can add their logo as well as make changes/additions to the reports.
PII Scanning
The service will include iScan Online PII and vulnerability scanning licenses that the MSP can use to scan desktops, laptops, servers, smartphones and tablets for PII. The scan also looks at vulnerabilities on the devices. Comprehensive reports show where PII is stored (i.e. 50 SSNs on a laptop) and the potential liability exposure if the device is lost, stolen or breached.
Security Policies
Policies that can be easily implemented and followed by employees. The policies are customizable and focus on privacy and data security, training employees, using strong password controls, protecting mobile devices, employee termination procedures, etc.
Employee Security Training
Employee training that will help lower the risk of having a data breach. Employees need to understand the risk to PII and Sensitive Data. They need to understand the risk of data breaches, malware and phishing scams. The training also enforces good password practices. The training is engaging with videos and quizzes that will help employees protect data.
Respond to Breaches
Cyber Insurance / Financial Protection
The service includes $100,000 of Financial Protection in the event of a breach. The service is backed by a AIG Cyber Insurance Policy. The Financial Protection will provide resources in the event of a breach to help with legal advice, forensics, breach response, credit monitoring. It may even help pay for services that the MSP provides to assist with the breach!
Breach Response Services
The service will include access to vendors / resources to assist with a data breach. Vendors include legal, forensic, breach response, breach notification as well as customer credit / identification monitoring. These are services that most MSPs do not provide and can assist both the MSP and the MSP client quickly and decisively respond to a data breach.
Access and Benefits
MSP Branded Portal
The MSP Branded Cloud Portal will allow clients and their employees to access the resources of the service. The Security Risk Assessment, Policies, Security Training, and Access to Reports are all delivered via the Security Portal. The client can even upload additional policies and procedures (such as employee handbooks) as well as other documents (such as 3rd party / service provider agreements, disaster recovery / business continuity documents, etc.)

BSN provides many benefits to both MSPs and MSP clients. The service provides a framework for an MSP to discuss security and risk with their client, with resources to help convince them of the need to better protect data by investing in security products and services. Educating them on how risks to data can lead to potentially catastrophic business risk adds value and reinforces your role as a trusted partner.
MSP clients benefit by having a much clearer understanding of potential risk of data breaches and steps to reduce the risk. Employees are provided with engaging security training to help lower the chance of a data breach.
